Not Again

I'm no fashion expert but I think I can safely say that I know what is nice or what is utterly horrendous. Our Datuk Siti has committed crime against fashion before, remember the vagina dress? I'm not the least surprised when she came out with this....

.....do i see a hint of camel toe..??

Gomen afraid of a piece of paper

This is how real news should be reported...

December 11, 2007. Kuala Lumpur.

A piece of paper caused panic for the Malaysian government this morning when it had to deploy some 500 police personel to prevent the piece of paper from reaching the Parliament building. Road blocks were set up as early as 8 am along the roads leading to the Parliament house. One lawyer was definitely reported to have been late to attend court this morning when he was caught in a massive traffic jam.

Even with the road blocks and barbed wires, the piece of paper managed to slip into the Parliament much to the dismay of the police personnels. To justify their presence, the police arrested supporters of the piece of paper who had turned up to accompany the piece of paper in a show of support. Some 30 people mostly from the Opposition parties were arrested.

The de facto Law Minister, when interviewed said that the piece of paper had links with the terrosist association called MILF.

The Information Minister when asked to comment on the events at the Parliament house rambled and stuttered something which was incomprehensible to our reporter.

Me and Sunday morning just don't mix. In fact it is a sin for me to get up early on a Sunday morn.

To those brave citizens taking a walk this Sunday Morn...i am there in spirit, as always.

When the seagulls, follow the trawler, its because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea

This is what Eric Cantonna said before a packed room of press, after serving his 100 hours community sentence for launching a kung-fu kick at a Sheffeild Wednesday fan, which also resulted in a 9 months worldwide ban. After he said what he said, he left the room leaving the newsmen bemused.
I had ceased blogging since my last post in september. Reason, I just lost it. In addition to losing my mojo for blogging, I was also psyching my self up for a life changing event due next March. Yes, i am excited yet terrified at the same time.
And for some mysteriously unknown reason...i've suddenly gotten my mojo back from Dr. Evil.

So who is Bodoh now...?

IPOH: The phrase “The Birth of a Nation” is misleading and gives the impression that Malaysia was only born 50 years ago, said Tambun Umno Youth division chief Nasir Ismail.
He said this was an insult to the country as it portrayed the Malays as a race without a nation of their own. “Malaysia has taken concrete steps to break the shackles of the imperialists' economic marginalisation,” he said during the divisional meeting here yesterday.
He explained that the Tourism Ministry had been using that phrase to promote the country in its advertisements abroad.

Hello...? Who the hell is this fella? Is he just stupid or didnt he go to school? Malaya was "born" in 1957 after gaining "independence" from the Brits. Malaysia was "born" in 1963. We were never independent before all of this. Someone please teach this guy some history....

Blog n Go II

On going bald
Sharifah Amani went kojak for a her role in the new Yasmin Ahmad's movie. As I expected, certain religious people commented that what she did was haram as it is forbiden for a female to "look" like the opposite sex. I'm just wondering, what if a woman goes bald but wears a tudung...?

On Citibank
My housing loan was one month over due. Received a call from citibank

Girl: Account Encik dah overdue sebulan, boleh buat bayaran minggu ni?
Me: Minggu depan saya bayar.
Girl: Minggu depan tak boleh encik, nanti dah masuk dua bulan. surat lawyer kluar
Me: Minggu ni memang tak dapat, tak cukup duit.
Girl: Kalau tak cukup, encik pinjam la dengan sesiapa dulu....
Me: ..........huh?

Do these people get some sort of commision for reminding customers to pay on time? sheesh.

Quite irrelevant Judgement considering nothing has been solved. Lina is christian by heart although her IC says Islam. Thing is, she'll only need her IC if she plans to stay as a Malaysian.

Somebody doesnt seem to want the trial to proceed. I bet you, there'll be another postponement come 14 June.

May God bless your soul...I grew up on Alleycats. Their tunes still stick in my head. I even sang one of their songs in front of an audience in a talent contest when i was 13. No i wasn't talented, i was out to impress the 14 year old girl next door.

A world record...

A British climber has set a world record by making a mobile phone call from the top of Mount Everest. - The BBC

I cant believe this....a Brit beat us to a World Record. Not only this Brit made a World Record call he also made the record for Highest Text Message. I'm astonished that no Malaysian actually thought of this record. Didn't a bunch of Malaysians just concurred Mt. Everest a couple of days ago? Since that is one record down, maybe i can suggest the next record at Mt.Everest. Hrmm.. what about being the first couple to have sex at the peek of Mt. Everest? Any takers...?

Not politics again....

I started following politics at a young age. Politics for a 7-year-old boy was waiting for the Prime Minister’s motorcade passing by our house. We used to live in the vicinity of the Prime Ministers House. Every time the motorcade passes my house, I’d be alerted by the sirens of his outriders. I would rush out to our balcony and stand in attention saluting when the PM’s car passes by. I was just awed by the fact that this man is the “boss” of the country.

The PM at that time was Tun Hussein Onn. My father would always commend that Tun Hussien was an honest and clean leader, unlike his successors. Tun Hussien’s stand on corruption was simple; he wouldn’t have any of it. In 1976, the ACA charged Datuk Haron, at that time Head of Umno Youth and Chief Minister of Selangor, for abuse of state funds. Tun Hussien never interfered. He left the ACA to do its job, knowing well that Datuk Haron had strong grass-root support.

For the past decade or so, I’ve come to realize that politics in Malaysia is not as it seems to be. Now, its about power and money. It’s about the Malay supremacy. Politics in Malaysia is still based on race not ideologies. It’s a shame to think that we Malaysians have not evolved much since gaining independence 50 years ago. Sometimes knowing what goes on behind the political scene makes me feel sick in the stomach. Why bother with politics anyway I say to myself. I would then say, because people who don’t bother bout politics are the cause of the state we are in now. Because we don’t bother, monkeys can get elected into Parliament. It’s no more about saluting the boss of the country... we ARE the Boss!

Tough Luck

My father was in the Judiciary for 20 years. He had since retired and currently sits on the board of several companies. Back when i was still studying in uni, come hari raya he would hold the customary open house. Among the guests were members of the Bench and the Bar. There was one particular year at our open house when i remember being approached by a turban attired gentleman and was handed four packets of duit raya, each for my siblings and myself.

After the guests had left, I distributed the packets among my siblings and we promptly open it. To our astonishment, we each received 500. It was quite a lot back then. We were all jumping up and down with cash in our hands. My dad came and asked what's all the commotion. We proudly showed the cash in our hands and said one of the lawyers gave us "duit raya". Without hesitation he said give it back to me..I was like "Wha...??" He said he cannot allow us to accept it and wants to give it back to the lawyer. As we passed the money to him, we could only imagine what we could have bought with all the money. I heard that the next day he had returned the money to the lawyer.

I couldn't understand back then what was the big deal. Looking back, I now know why he had to return it. Giving money to his children is akin to giving money to him. With his position on the Bench it would bring a negative impression on him even if the gesture was genuine.

That's how "tough" my life was. I wonder if it's the same being a Prime Minister's son...or son in law.

Are the foreign press liars too?

Recently there seems to be a lot comments made against bloggers. One minister called bloggers liars, then there was the "request" from the PM's Department to all their mouthpiece not to quote blogs in their reporting, which was then followed suit by the Minister of Information. In Parliament yesterday, a BN member of Parliament urged the government to impose laws to curb bloggers as he was in the opinion that "the people believe more in the bloggers than the newspapers... " (gee..i wonder why??)
In today's newspaper, our Defence Minister, Mr. Razak (ehem) refuted foreign reports that he had apologised to Indonesia over the presence of Malaysian warships and aircraft in Ambalat waters in the Sulawesi Sea earlier this month.
A few days earlier, Transport Minister Chan Kong Choy denied foreign reports that Malaysia and Singapore had approved construction of a bullet train which will be built by YTL Corporation. And remember the reports by a local Turkish press that the PM had ordered a luxurious yacht for himself which he later denied?
So..are these foreign press liars too I ask. It seems everybody else is lying....

Liar Liar

This one time carpet bussinessman has put more than a foot in his mouth. A chinese newspaper had quoted him saying:

"Bloggers are liars. They use all sort of ways to cheat others. From what I know, out of 10,000 unemployed bloggers, 8,000 are women."

“Bloggers like to spread rumours, they don’t like national unity. Today our country has achievements because we are tolerant and compromising. Otherwise we will have civil war. "

Firstly, when you accuse all bloggers as liars, you accused me as a liar... I for one am paying your fat undeserved salary as a tax-payer.

Secondly, where the hell did you get the figures that 10,000 bloggers are unemployed and 8,000 of them are women? Do tell us please.

To the people of Putrajaya, please do not vote this second hand minister in again..he is among the 80% of cabinet ministers who are idiots.

Rumours...rumours...

One of my daily routine is to watch the news at 8pm. Not so much of desire to see and hear what's happening in and around the country ( i get the real news on the net) but to get entertained by the bafoonery of our politicians and the standard of broadcast journalism. A couple of nights ago over on TV3, the Prime Minister was asked on the news circulating on the net that he had gotten married. With a broad cheeky smile the PM answered " Rumours..rumours..rumours lah..rumours". I thought it was a bit funny that he wasn't angry and stern in his answer. I would have thought that if it wasnt true he would have been pissed off. But Pak Lah seemed smitten by the question. We know its a rumour but Pak Lah didnt say the rumour is true or not. At least we all understood when Siti Nurhaliza says " No kor-men"

Lembik

Not the kind of response i was expecting...

(Reuters) - Malaysia's prime minister responded to the biggest crisis facing his three-year-old anti-corruption drive on Monday by dismissing 85 percent of graft allegations as baseless.

On another note, I'm kinda wondering how the police got to know of the website which accused a Deputy Minister of corruption. I would have thought it would be one of Malaysia's influential bloggers like Rocky, Jeff Ooi or Raja Petra. Having seen the website, turns out to be annonymous. The whole thing looks politically motivated to me.

Come on....

Today's Star

Motorbikes for Mat Rempit who help curb crime

BALING: Putera Umno will reward Mat Rempit here with motorcycles for helping police detain snatch thieves. Its chief Datuk Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim said the incentive was one way of curbing snatch thefts in the Baling district and to encourage the illegal racers to be police informants.
Typical Umno mentality...must have a reward to do something good. Might as well give drugs to drug addicts.

I had dissapeared from the blogging scene for awhile back cos i got hitched to a wonderful woman. We have since settled in our new home and now adjusting to our new life as a couple.

Is there a doctor in the house...?

You know that you've had an overdose of Grey's Anatomy when:-

i) Your dreams are off people in scrubs, face mask and that white doctors uniform;

ii) You keep using the story line as an example to your discussions;

iii) When you see the Golden Arches you'll think of McDreamy;

iv) The next time you visit a hospital you'll look at the staff differently;

I had to sit thru the weekend with my other half watching the box dvd set of Grey's....thank God for my PSP...

Elections are definitely this year..

From The Star today :

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno division Youth wings have been told to ensure that all their members are registered as voters by June.

Umno Youth chief Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein made this call because some 150,000 members nationwide have yet to register as voters.

He said he was concerned that such a large number of Umno Youth members, who were carrying out work to register others as voters and to garner support for the Barisan Nasional, were themselves not registered voters.
